Happy New Year everyone!

Hope you all enjoyed the blog My Year In Lists I had some good feedback on it. Well we all love a good list don’t we.

Well this last week is that weird time isn’t it when we all loose perspective on time and what day of the week it is. thnakfully I have remembered it is Sunday so here is the usual Sunday blog.

I haven’t been up to much during the week really. I did have a family meet up which was OK but I think you do get to a point where you just can’t take any more sausage rolls and quiche. to add to this as well we all ended up playing charades. Its amazing how competitive some people get. I suppose it filled some time. I also avoided the chocolate orange which is usually the present I always get off a relative and have just not been able to tell them that I actually don’t like chocolate and orange. Well this year it was actually a gift voucher which is more use for me, although my work colleagues I think were secretly hoping I would get one and take it in for them.

I didn’t do much for New Years Eve. I never do really. I think its because I know most people want to spend it with those special in their lives so I usually end up staying watching a DVD (Star Trek if you were wondering). I decided I wasn’t letting the New Year in this time as I have done it for the last few years and its all been quite bad really, so my dad did it instead this year. I know you might think thats a bit superstitious but I am very superstitious and just want a bit of good luck and I hope 2011 is good year for everyone.

At this time of the year we all start thinking about making New Years Resolutions. Well here is my attempt at the them.

1)Read More : now to people who know me they will say well you read loads anyway. Yes I usually do but last year was a bad year for reading for me so I need to make more of an effort and get back into it.

2)Get my own place: I really need to make an effort and get my own place. I know the reality of buying is unlikely so I am going to have to make an effort and look at renting.

3)Socialise more: I don’t really go out much and I know this will work against the previous resolution but I do need to go out more. I am too quick to say no to things and sometimes I have to just go for it and say yes.

4)Dating: I know this is largely out of my hands but I do need to make more of an effort in this area.

5)Sort finances out: By this I mean I need to try and save more and not just spend.

6)Grow Up: This year I am turning 30 and I basically need to grow up. I need to be more responsible in all aspects of my life. I can still have fun but there is point where I need to start acting like a grown up.

Well thats it for this week. Looking forward to getting back work and into a routine again.
